but what is stronger
than the human heart
which shatters over and over
and lives

Reclamation

In this body of work, I seek used and discarded lingerie and transform them with beeswax and resin. Through this process, I tangibly redeem salvaged forms. Holding these objects in a moment of repair embodies my ongoing wrestle with hope—a tension that emerges from inhabiting the liminal space between the impact of harm and the beauty of renewal.

While the works may appear gossamer and delicate, they exist materially as resilient, encaustic-coated fibers. The zippers, capable of opening or closing, occupy a similar in-between state. In their renewed form, these no-longer utilitarian objects extend from the wall into the viewer’s space, whispering their histories of use while affirming their present transformation.
