Uncover
In this installation, I work with a used, soiled, and discarded familial blanket, altering it through encaustic and manipulation. Suspending the salvaged form in a moment of re-creation is an empowering act. Through this transformation, the work enters a shared space with the viewer. Uncover invites reflection on what happens when agents of warmth, comfort, and protection are rendered hard, cold, and turned inward.
