Christy Nelson lives and works in Laporte, CO. She received her BFA from Mississippi State University in 2007. Since then she has been exploring themes of vulnerability and healing in her work. She recently was awarded the Kennedy Center Art Scholarship, the Keith Foskin Master of Fine Arts Scholarship and the Lilyblade Scholarship along with the Juror’s Award for Excellence and the Magnolia House Purchase Award in the Colorado State Student Exhibition. Christy is currently an instructor for Two-Dimensional Visual Fundamentals at Colorado State University where she is also an MFA candidate.
